Amisha Patel makes Govinda work till late night

We never heard of Amisha Patel’s persuasion powers, but this one incident proves that the girl sure knows how to convince someone adamant.

It happened last week at Film City where Amisha Patel and Govinda were shooting a song for film Run Bhola Run . When the shooting was in full flow and the unit seemed determined to wrap up a major chunk of the song, the clock struck 8pm and Govinda decided to call it a day.

However, putting off the shoot till the next day not only meant additional expenditure for the producer, it would have also broken the working rhythm of the unit. The director and the song’s choreographer requested Govinda to stay but the actor told them he had something urgent at home to attend to.


That’s when Amisha Patel, Govinda’s co-star, sprang into action. The saucy belle walked upto Chi Chi (as Govinda is fondly called) and requested him to stay a few more hours to complete the shoot.

Now, Govinda, who has more than once admitted to have “great respect for women”, could not say no to Amisha. Moreover, Amisha told him that the team would try to wrap up the shoot by 10 pm.

Eventually, Amisha’s persuasion power worked and Chi Chi remained on the sets and shot till late night.

Amisha Patel trys Kolkata Knight Riders dress code

Amisha Patel is one up on Shah Rukh Khan. Even before the actor could wear the black and gold colours of his IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, for a film, Amisha Patel has done that.

The actress said, “Manish Malhotra who has designed all the clothes for KKR has used that similar colour theme for a song in my latest film. Manish was designing the women’s line for his fashion shows in Delhi and Mumbai and he was discussing their designs. It was then that we decided why not try out the colour scheme for my costumes in a song. The costumes were striking and with my complexion, they are looking great on camera.”

So when she was teased that she is one up on SRK, Patel was startled, “No no… please don’t say that. SRK is the Badshah and be it as an actor, as a friend or as a human being, he is superior. So please don’t say that I am one up on him.”

After Patel’s get skimpy look in Thoda Pyar Thoda Magik, audiences are eager to see what she comes up with next. And with Malhotra styling her, we don’t have to worry about the looks, the question is about her role in the film… Now that’s going to be the next ladder to climb for Patel who has two of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema, Gaddar and Kaho Na Pyar Hai, to her credit.

Amisha Patel brand ambassador for NGO Angel Foundation

If you thought that Amisha Patel was only glamour and beauty, take a look at this. The actress is supporting the cause of the girl child by becoming a brand ambassador for NGO Angel Foundation run by her beau Kanav Puri’s mother. And as you expected, the actress is full of praise for Anjalie, Kanav’s mom, and said she was doing great work in India and abroad. “She raises funds through charities to set up outlets that provide job opportunities to poor women,” said Amisha. The actress informed that Anjalie has set up educational centres with the help of the Maharaja and Maharani of Patiala. She added, “There are several places in Punjab, UP and Bihar that need good educational institutes.”

Speaking about the plight of the girl child, Amisha said, “When I hear stories of the horrifying ratio of girls to boys in Punjab, I feel miserable. I am a strong believer in the welfare of the girl child.”

Amisha has been working with the UN for human trafficking for the last couple of years. She also went to Kanpur and Lucknow to open Lollypop kindergarten schools. “They wanted me to open the playschools, as I am one of the educated actresses in the industry and a gold medallist from one of the finest universities in the US,” she said.

Promos are fine,no polls Said Amisha Patel

Amisha Patel, who was in Ahmedabad on Tuesday for a promotional event, said she is not contesting the Lok Sabha polls.

Earlier, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had reported that Patel will contest from Rajkot on a party ticket.

Initially, Amisha evaded questions on her entering politics and refused to speak anything on the topic.

On being asked whether she contemplated contesting the polls, she said that since she wasn’t interested, such a question did not arise.

“I have not accepted any offer to contest the elections; neither am I campaigning for any party,” she said.

She, however, said she was not against the notion of actors making a foray into politics. “If you can handle both, then why not,” she said.

She also did not deny that she is not interested in politics. “Who is not interested in politics? Every person, every citizen of the country is interested in politics,” she said.

On a lighter note, she added that her grandfather, Barrister Rajni Patel, was a politician and the Congress Pradesh Committee president of Mumbai.
