Amisha Patel Pairs Balakrishna in Parama Veera Chakra

Veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao has signed Bollywood beauty Amisha Patel to act opposite Balakrishna in his current patriotic project ‘Parama Veera Chakra’.

Sources add that Amisha was chosen after a lot of discussion. Reports had that Anushka would do the lead role but she apparently had cited date problems paving the way to the charming Amisha Patel. As reported before, young heroine Sheela will be the other lead in the movie.

About ‘Parama Veera Chakra’, the movie as the title defines is a patriotic theme! Balayya plays double role in the movie! As of now the movie is currently being shot in Ramoji Film City. A few locations have been spotted in Kashmir and other areas to shoot war shots. The out-door schedule will start in November.

Ameesha patel Spotted at cavalli club fair mount dubai

Ameesha Patel was spotted at the upscale nightclub Cavalli Club at the Fairmont Dubai last (Dec 30) night.

Also present was her London-based boyfriend Kanav Puri and mom Asha Patel. (Yes, mother and daughter have finally made up after years of having no contact following a fight over mishandling of Ameesha’s finances.)

Wearing a pink-orange gown, Ameesha looked happy and relaxed as she and her entourage were entertained by a Dubai socialite.

Ameesha is in Dubai to perform at the New Year Bash 2010, a New Year’s Eve show being hosted by the Country Club Hotel. Govinda and KK will also perform at the event.

Amisha Patel injured knee

Bollywood’s ever Pretty Ameesha Patel, who seems to be getting even prettier with each passing day, was seen with a white bandage around her knee at Hrithik Roshan’s place for Pinky Roshan’s party on Sunday night.

It came out that the lady had a knee injury in August while working out and the knee is still in the healing process. While working out, Ameesha was spinning excessively and damaged her knees. Currently, the actress is been undergoing physiotherapy and in order to refrain from putting pressure on her knees, she is not doing cardio and lower body workouts in gym.

Ameesha’s trainer, Khushru Cooper says, “She is recovering from injury. These are joints of the body which are used at every movement of yours, may be while walking or sitting. Thus it is a slow and careful recovery. Her physiotherapy is on and will be fine soon.”

Its the only word from all her heartly fans, Get well soon amisha patel.

Amisha Patel launch Zaara Fashion house in Dhaka

Amisha Patel will arrive Dhaka on August 28 in a day-long visit to attend the grand opening of fashion house 'Zaara.' The opening ceremony will be held on that day at 4:30pm.

Some bright and prospective entrepreneurs led by FBCCI Director Mir Nizamuddin Ahmed has taken steps to establish the brand 'Zaara.'

A wide range of collections like saree, lehenga, three-piece, salwar, panjabi, sherwani, fatua, kids wear and other items will be available at the fashion mall.

Specious and elegant space of Haque Plaza's first floor is fully ready to serve the customers.

Swine flu might have dampened the festive spirit of Mumbaikars but there’s one person who couldn’t care less about it. Yes, it’s Ameesha Patel who is eager to cheer the participants at a dahi handi event at Worli.

According to sources, Ameesha is very close to the organizers and it is a huge celebration that she believes in strongly. That’s why she’s very keen on attending the event. She doesn’t seem very bothered by the whole swine flu thing.

This year dahi handi is a small affair as compared to every year. Ameesha plans to attend the event sans the mask as she has full faith in God.

Amisha Patel Working Hard For Comeback

Yet another Bollywood actress has refused to marry her long-time boyfriend.

The news is that Amisha Patel has infuriated her long time boyfriend Kanav Puri - by turning down his marriage proposal.

Amisha said that the wedding bells would have to wait for over couple of years before they start to ring.


Confirming the development via SMS, Amisha said: "Marriage is not on the cards for me, my career is top most priority and when the right time comes I shall tie the knot."

After a series of big flops at the BO, Amisha is keeping her fingers crossed for her upcoming two projects viz. 'Chatur Singh 2 Star' with Sanjay Dutt and 'Run Bhola Run' with Govinda.

Puri, a London based businessman, is said to be finding the long distance relationship very hard to cope with. Thus, the millionaire is quite impatient to marry the Indian actress.

Amisha to get swimwear on Kanav Request

Amisha patel celebrates her 33rd birthday today with a surprise holiday gifted by beau Kanav Puri. The actress says, "I was missing him a lot as it's been more than a month since he has been in London. I decided to fly down last week to be with him." She adds, "Kanav had asked me to pack casual clothes and sports shoes
along with swim gear. I was shocked and asked him where was he taking me swimming when it was so cold in London? But he told me not to ask too many questions."

The next thing Amisha knew was that Kanav was driving her down to Hampshire, two and a half hours away from London. "Kanav gifted me a stay at this beautiful resort and spa. I am just getting pampered with massages." But Amisha is not just getting pampered but is also into outdoor activities too. "Kanav and I are fitness-conscious so though we have been gorging a lot on Persian and Lebanese food besides cakes and champagne
, we are making sure that we don't put on weight. We go horse-riding, cycling, jogging and swimming in the heated indoor pool. In fact at the rate I am going I will come back thinner than I was. I have burnt all my calories."

Amisha took some time off before her holiday to shop at Harrods. "I didn't bring any bikinis from India so I had to buy swimming gear." She adds, "This trip has been fun. I will return to Mumbai by this weekend but I will remember it forever. I don't know when I will be seeing Kanav again as after this my film shoots and show rehearsals start."

Tufts University offers Amisha Patel teaching position

Amisha Patel, a gold medallist in economics from the Tufts University in Boston, has been offered a job as a professor at the university any time she wants.

Amisha says, "I have been offered the post of a part-time professor at Tufts. I would be required to teach drama and take classes talking about my experiences as an actress. I can take up the post at any time in my life. It can be a six-week summer semester, for three months or an entire year. It's an extremely prestigious post and being an advocate of education, it's something I would love to do it at some point though not right now as it will be difficult for me to take off for a year. Musician Tracy Chapman is one of the Tufts graduates who has also been offered this post."

Being a gold medallist in economics, Amisha is also a Gold Key member at the varsity. She says, "The Gold Key membership is awarded to any student who tops his/her course and has an outstanding academic record. If you are a Gold Key member you can get invited and accepted to any university to study further. Tufts had asked me to extend my education and get a Masters degree but I came back to India and joined films.

In 2005, Lawrence S Bacow, lawyer, economist, and twelfth president of Tufts awarded the Tufts Alumni Award to Amisha who graduated in economics from the school in 1997.
Ameesha says, "Apart from celebrities in entertainment, many political ambassadors and Presidents have graduated from Tufts. There are lots of courses in politics and anyone training in politics and wants to enter the White House can do classes. There are many prominent personalities graduating from Tufts every year. I received the Tufts Alumni Award in 2005 and for the award in 2009 held in New York. Tufts has invited me for the ceremony."

Akshay Khanna is Amisha’s speed dial friend!

Amisha Patel may be nearly a decade old in the industry, but the lady doesn’t have too many friends there. The muphat that she is, she’s made more enemies than admirers.

But luckily for her, Amisha found a friend in Akshaye Khanna, another star who is known to be moody and aloof. Sources say that these two South Mumbai stars have been good friends since they acted together in Humraaz several years ago.

Maybe they bond over their elite South Mumbai attitude that looks down upon the rest of the industry as commoners. They are often seen having dinners in their posh downtown joints.

In fact, sometime ago Amisha was also seen shopping in a designer store with Akshaye. When asked, she’d insisted that they were shopping for her boyfriend Kanav.

Amisha who is more in Delhi these days with the Puris, was back in Mumbai for some meetings recently. While driving through South Mumbai, her car broke down and our la-di-da lady was in no mood to hop into a cab.

An industry insider revealed, “When David Dhawan was looking for an actress for his forthcoming film, Amisha came to know about the same. Amisha had acted in his Salman Khan starrer dud Yeh Hai Jalwa and hoped it would suffice to bag her this one it seems. David then apparently was reminded about how they had worked together in the past and what a memorable experience it had turned out to be.

However it was Amisha’s good luck that he chose to offer her the role in his film but when Amisha realized that it was just a secondary role in the film that she was pitching for in her excitement. Then apparently she promptly turned around and told David that she was only interested in main leads and if he’d offer her that, she’d consider. Poor David was left zapped to say the least!”
