Tufts University offers Amisha Patel teaching position

Amisha Patel, a gold medallist in economics from the Tufts University in Boston, has been offered a job as a professor at the university any time she wants.

Amisha says, "I have been offered the post of a part-time professor at Tufts. I would be required to teach drama and take classes talking about my experiences as an actress. I can take up the post at any time in my life. It can be a six-week summer semester, for three months or an entire year. It's an extremely prestigious post and being an advocate of education, it's something I would love to do it at some point though not right now as it will be difficult for me to take off for a year. Musician Tracy Chapman is one of the Tufts graduates who has also been offered this post."

Being a gold medallist in economics, Amisha is also a Gold Key member at the varsity. She says, "The Gold Key membership is awarded to any student who tops his/her course and has an outstanding academic record. If you are a Gold Key member you can get invited and accepted to any university to study further. Tufts had asked me to extend my education and get a Masters degree but I came back to India and joined films.

Past students

In 2005, Lawrence S Bacow, lawyer, economist, and twelfth president of Tufts awarded the Tufts Alumni Award to Amisha who graduated in economics from the school in 1997.
Ameesha says, "Apart from celebrities in entertainment, many political ambassadors and Presidents have graduated from Tufts. There are lots of courses in politics and anyone training in politics and wants to enter the White House can do classes. There are many prominent personalities graduating from Tufts every year. I received the Tufts Alumni Award in 2005 and for the award in 2009 held in New York. Tufts has invited me for the ceremony."

Akshay Khanna is Amisha’s speed dial friend!

Amisha Patel may be nearly a decade old in the industry, but the lady doesn’t have too many friends there. The muphat that she is, she’s made more enemies than admirers.

But luckily for her, Amisha found a friend in Akshaye Khanna, another star who is known to be moody and aloof. Sources say that these two South Mumbai stars have been good friends since they acted together in Humraaz several years ago.

Maybe they bond over their elite South Mumbai attitude that looks down upon the rest of the industry as commoners. They are often seen having dinners in their posh downtown joints.

In fact, sometime ago Amisha was also seen shopping in a designer store with Akshaye. When asked, she’d insisted that they were shopping for her boyfriend Kanav.

Amisha who is more in Delhi these days with the Puris, was back in Mumbai for some meetings recently. While driving through South Mumbai, her car broke down and our la-di-da lady was in no mood to hop into a cab.

She quickly called Akshaye, who was on speed dial, and the Khanna dude who barely answers his calls was there to pick her up in 10 minutes flat. Now, wonder what the raaz is...!

Amisha leaves David Dhawan zapped!

If you recall past few years and you will realize Amisha Patel’s off screen histrionics have been more in news than her on screen ones.

She barely has projects on her hands and seems pretty chilled out hanging along with beau Kanav Puri. But if the recent news revealed by an industry insider has to be believed then we just cannot stop laughing our hearts out.

An industry insider revealed, “When David Dhawan was looking for an actress for his forthcoming film, Amisha came to know about the same. Amisha had acted in his Salman Khan starrer dud Yeh Hai Jalwa and hoped it would suffice to bag her this one it seems. David then apparently was reminded about how they had worked together in the past and what a memorable experience it had turned out to be.

However it was Amisha’s good luck that he chose to offer her the role in his film but when Amisha realized that it was just a secondary role in the film that she was pitching for in her excitement. Then apparently she promptly turned around and told David that she was only interested in main leads and if he’d offer her that, she’d consider. Poor David was left zapped to say the least!”
