There's more to Amisha Patel than just her gorgeous looks. The actress is supporting the cause of the girl child by becoming a brand ambassador for NGO Angel Foundation run by her beau Kanav Puri's mother. "I am a part of the Angel Foundation that works towards the upliftment of the girl child," said Amisha.Speaking about the plight of the girl child, Amisha said, "When I hear stories of the horrifying ratio of girls to boys in Punjab, I feel miserable. I am a strong believer in the welfare of the girl child." The actress was full of praise for Anjalie, Kanav's mom, and said she was doing great work in India and abroad.
"She raises funds through charities to set up outlets that provide job opportunities to poor women," said Amisha. The actress informed that Anjalie has set up educational centres with the help of the Maharaja and Maharani of Patiala. She added, "There are several places in Punjab, UP and Bihar that need good educational institutes."
Amisha has been working with the UN for human trafficking for the last couple of years. She also went to Kanpur and Lucknow to open Lollypop kindergarten schools. "They wanted me to open the playschools, as I am one of the educated actresses in the industry and a gold medallist from one of the finest universities in the US," she said. She added people appreciated her statement one could take away everything from you, but not your education with a huge round of applause.
